Hydro excavation breaks up ground with pressurised water and recovers the spoil by vacuum, so an excavation can be taken down beside a live service without a bucket touching it. CCTV inspection records the condition of stormwater and sewer lines and identifies blockages, root intrusion, cracking, displaced joints and infiltration. On industrial sites it is also used to establish the condition of an asset before nearby works begin and to verify it afterwards.
