Hydro excavation in Cairns and Far North Queensland
Hydro excavation uses pressurised water to cut ground while a vacuum unit recovers the spoil, which allows services to be exposed without the risk that comes with a machine bucket. It is a form of non-destructive digging, used for service proving and potholing before design or construction, precision trenching and excavation beside existing pits, kerbs and pavement.

High rainfall and stormwater capacity
Far North Queensland records some of the highest rainfall in the country, and stormwater infrastructure here is designed for intensities that would overwhelm networks further south. That makes lost capacity a more immediate problem: a partly silted line that would be tolerable elsewhere can surcharge in a single event.
The practical response is programmed cleaning ahead of the wet season, clearing silt, sand, vegetation and debris out of lines, pits, gullies and culverts with high-pressure jetting and recovering it by vacuum. After an event the work turns reactive, restoring blocked drainage and inspecting lines for damage. Booking pre-season work early matters, because regional demand concentrates into a narrow window.
Remote and difficult-access worksites
Work in the Far North regularly sits well outside the urban area, on sites with limited access, no hardstand and no services close by. That changes the equipment decision. A unit has to carry enough water and tank capacity to be productive without frequent trips, and it has to be able to reach the site at all.
Four-wheel-drive capable units, including four-wheel-drive CCTV capability, are part of the fleet for exactly this reason, and higher-capacity tankers can be specified where a remote site would otherwise cost more in travel than in work. What can be committed to a specific remote site is confirmed at the time of enquiry.
CCTV inspection and drainage maintenance
CCTV inspection puts a camera through a stormwater or sewer line to record its actual condition and identify blockages, root intrusion, cracking, displaced joints and infiltration. In a wet tropical climate root intrusion and sediment loading are persistent issues rather than occasional ones, so condition data has real planning value.
Cleaning and inspection are usually carried out together, since a line has to be clear before a camera can report on it properly. Excavators, bobcats, tip trucks and hydro tankers are available with operators where a project needs supporting plant, and underground service locating is available through the Dynamic Group.
