Hydro Excavation & Vacuum Excavation Gold Coast

The Gold Coast is where Dynamic began, and it remains a hub for the fleet and crews. From here we support civil contractors, utilities, councils and commercial builders working across the city and its growth corridors, with vacuum excavation, drain cleaning, CCTV and plant hire available locally.

Hydro excavation on the Gold Coast

Hydro excavation uses pressurised water to break up ground while a vacuum unit lifts the spoil into a tank. Because the cutting is done by water rather than a steel bucket, it is a controlled way to dig where water, sewer, gas, electrical and telecommunications assets are already in the ground. It is the method most often specified when an asset owner will not accept the risk of mechanical excavation near a live service.

Across the Gold Coast that covers potholing to prove the depth and alignment of a service before design or construction, exposing assets ahead of trenching, boring or piling, precision trenching, and digging hard against kerbs, footings, pits and pavement. The method suited to a particular site still depends on ground conditions, the services present and what the asset owner requires, so scope is confirmed before crews mobilise.

Sandy ground and shallow water tables

Much of the Gold Coast sits on low-lying coastal sand, and in the canal estates and beachside suburbs groundwater can be encountered close to the surface. Saturated sand does not hold a batter and collapses into an open excavation, which makes conventional digging slow and the exposed service harder to protect.

Vacuum excavation handles wet and running material better than a bucket, because the spoil is drawn straight into the tank instead of being stockpiled beside a hole that is trying to close up. Where a site is likely to produce large volumes of wet spoil, a higher-capacity unit or a hydro tanker can be specified so the crew is not stopping to tip.

Drainage, stormwater and pipe inspection

Drain cleaning uses high-pressure jetting to clear stormwater and sewer lines, pits, gullies and culverts, with the dislodged material recovered by vacuum rather than pushed further down the system. It is used for planned maintenance and for reactive work after a blockage or heavy rain.

CCTV inspection puts a camera through the line to record its actual condition and identify blockages, root intrusion, cracking, displaced joints and infiltration. Cleaning and inspection are usually run together, because a line has to be clear before a camera can report on it properly.

Plant and crews from the Gold Coast base

The Gold Coast is where the business started in 2003 and it remains the location of head office, with depot capacity in the region alongside it. That matters mainly for response time: vacuum excavation plant is heavy and slow to move long distances, so having units based in the region is what makes short-notice and after-hours attendance practical.

Excavators, bobcats, tip trucks and hydro tankers can be supplied with the same crews where a job needs supporting plant rather than vacuum excavation on its own. Underground service locating is available alongside excavation through the Dynamic Group, so a site can be located and then exposed through one point of contact.

Who the Gold Coast crews support

Work comes from civil contractors, utility and telecommunications asset owners, councils, commercial builders and the high-rise and residential construction sector. Jobs range from a single day of potholing on a small site through to sustained programmes running alongside a main contractor for the length of a project.
